Ski Team

The McIntyre Ski Team offers an instructional ski race program for children, ages 6 to 13. The program is designed to improve overall skiing within a racing environment. As a member of the ski team, racers will learn the basic fundamentals of skiing and apply these skills to racing. As athletes progress through the program and begin to master the skills of racing, they are exposed to the tactics of ski racing.

The team competes in races at ski areas across the state. The races are held by members of the New Hampshire Alpine Racing Association (NHARA) and United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) affiliated clubs.  There will be a parents meeting in November the date still TBD. During the first dry land practice.

Age Groups:

  • Introduction to Racing (Ages 6 – 9): This program is for beginner racers with a recommended minimum skill level of 3. It serves as a basic introduction to the sport of ski racing. The program commences with participants skiing through a race course at McIntyre. The program runs for six weeks beginning the first week of January. Training sessions will be Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
    • USSA and NHARA Membership Requirements: None
    • Program Cost: $375 (includes lift ticket for practice nights)
  • U8 (Ages 6 and 7):  This program is for beginner racers looking for more time on the snow  A minimum skill level of 3 is recommended.  On snow training at McIntyre begins when the ski area opens and ends the last week of March. Training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.  Dry land training will take place on Saturday mornings, beginning on TBD, and will continue until the mountain opens.
    • USSA and NHARA Memberships Requirement: None
    • Program Cost: $400 team  And season pass $199
  • U10 (Ages 8 and 9):  The U10 racers participate in Open races and Divisional Skills Quest events at various ski areas in southern NH. This is not a beginner level program; a minimum ski level of 4 is recommended.  On snow training at McIntyre begins when the ski area opens and ends the last week in March. Training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Dry land training will take place on Saturday mornings beginning on TBD and will continue until the mountain opens.
    • USSA and NHARA Memberships Requirement: USSA Youth Competitor Membership and NHARA           Membership required in order to participate in races and skills events.
    • Program Cost: $400 Team and season pass $199
  • U12 (Ages 10 and 11):  The U12 racers participate in Open races and Division Qualifiers at various ski areas in the state. This is not a beginner level program; a minimum ski level of 4 is recommended. On snow training at McIntyre begins when the ski area opens and ends the last week in March. Training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.  Dry land training will take place on Saturday morning’s beginning on TBD and will continue until the mountain opens.
    • USSA and NHARA Memberships Requirement: USSA Youth Competitor Membership and NHARA           Membership required in order to participate in races
    • Program Cost: $450Team and season pass $199
  • U14 (Ages 12 and 13):  The U14 racers participate in Qualifying Race Series, and Open races at various ski areas in the state. This is not a beginner level program; a minimum ski level of 4 is recommended.  On snow training at McIntyre begins when the ski area open and ends the last week in March. Training sessions are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Dry land training will take place on Saturday mornings beginning on TBD and will continue until the mountain opens.
    • USSA and NHARA Memberships Requirement: USSA Youth Competitor and NHARA membership    required in order to participate in races
    • Program Cost : $450 Team and season pass $199

Equipment:  Racers are required to have up-to-date skis, bindings, poles and boots. Approved ski helmets (hard eared) are required for racers for all training and racing. Ski equipment must be checked by a professional ski shop prior to on snow training. We reserve the right to refuse training of anyone with equipment we feel is not safe or may be outdated.  A team equipment fit night will take place in early fall.
