2009-2010 News
Now that McIntyre Ski School has taken over operations of the Mighty Mac, you might just notice a few changes.
Physical Changes
First on the docket was to bump out the front of the Retail/Rental Shop and make room for a ticket window. One stop at the shop nets you tickets, equipment, lessons, accessories, gift cards and season passes. Stop in and check it out!
Lifts and operator shacks are painted and ready for operation, the groomer has been greased, and a new groomer is standing by for its first order. The grass has been trimmed and trees have been pruned.
Watch for an expanded tubing experience when 4 lanes turn into 8, and a faster ride to the top with a new, high capacity Wonder Carpet conveyor lift!
The back parking lot is bigger than ever and a group of volunteers is busy clearing the stream so a new bridge can be built to get folks from the lot to the lodge.
Remember the conveyor lift on the bunny trail? There will be two Wonder Carpets™ starting the 2009-2010 season…the original 70 footer has been extended to 170 feet and the new one is a whopping 250 feet long and will replace the old pony (rope) tow. Beginners have never had it so easy, and everyone is welcome to a ride!
Watch for a mini terrain park on Coyote that will give even the most timid of skiers and riders a mini thrill and a new fondness for anything that will help them catch a little air.
And the really big news is that in April 2010, the existing lodge will be razed to make room for a newer, bigger lodge.
Operational Changes
Gift cards that used to only work in the shop for lessons, rentals and accessories, can now be used anywhere on the premises including at the all new food concession and ticket office. Holiday hint: Gift cards make great stocking stuffers!! And better than sending your young skier/rider with cash for snacks…
Now you can purchase your tubing tickets in time to enjoy the full two hours! We’ve expanded the hours available, and with 8 lanes, you’ll get way more runs in! Don’t forget that tubing makes a great birthday party, family reunion or corporate outing! Wedding tube, anyone?
And what the heck is Skitübenboard™? It’s a smorgasbord of winter fun, a tantalizing buffet of skiing, tubing, and snowboarding with learning tips and rentals thrown in…every Saturday from 3:30pm to 9:30pm (tips from 3:30pm to 7pm) for just $32 beginning Jan 1, 2011. Exclusively at the Mac!
Overall, we think you’ll still find the Mac you’ve always loved and you’ll meet the Mac you’ll come to really love! Always putting families first…it's where you begin.
